HAMO
Work together to grow and fund interesting side projects!
While I was hanging out with some good friends in a coffee shop, still feeling the sting and disappointment of a failed launch, I decided to check google analytics to see if I had gotten at least a little bit of traffic from my post on Product hunt and Indie Hackers. To my surprise I saw that there had been a decent spike from non other than Product Hunt. So I race to PH to see what was up and it turned out that HAMO had gotten to the top for that day (which is today as I'm writing) ( a day after I posted it) . No idea how that happened but I'm glad it did! By the end of the day it was at the number 10 spot and had gotten over 800 page views (which I'd say is pretty good for my first real product). I know I still have a ways to go but I'm so glad I made it this far!
I stayed up until 2 am (I'm in Louisiana) to post HAMO on Product Hunt and went to sleep. What did I find when I woke up the next day? Crickets. I was super discouraged and felt like a failure the entire day.

I started to doubt myself and my ability to actually build a product that could help people and also make me money. I procrastinated and began to be discouraged by the amount of bills I had to pay and the things I wanted but couldn't afford. Luckily one of my best friends saw my struggle and really began to encourage me to finish HAMO and launch it. I thank God so much for her support! I also took some time to get feedback on IH!

The Idea for HAMO originally started as a bubble.is site for resources used startups that would be monetized by affiliates and makers would could be rewarded with 50% of affiliate income. But I couldn't get into any of the programs I thought would be the best fit for the audience I was going for. So I changed the business model to basically makers helping makers. Where makers can skip the upvote system and just pay to be a sponsor and 50% of that would go to the most upvoted project.

I started HAMO because I was frustrated with not being able to gain traction and funding for some of my ideas. I wanted to build something that helps other makers grow and fund their projects.
