August 2020 Website and Survey Now Live

I made the website HangdogRings.com and put up some initial content. Plus I included a survey for friends to get some additional feedback on the idea.

I sent the website link out to 10 friends so far.
Also made an instagram account at https://www.instagram.com/hangdogrings/ to show off the progress and prototype photos.

July 2020 V2 Prototype and Testing

I updated the design based on feedback to the first version. This design featured a smaller form factor and more refined pocket sizes.

For the prototypes, I was able to get them cut out of two layer plywood, making them much cheaper than the first batch.
But still too expensive to sell as first units...

May 2020 Designed the first prototype

Through conversations with my friend, an avid rock climber and bouldered, I came up with a feature set for the first Climbers Ring.

After one Sunday designing the 3D model I had enough detail to send out for quotes and get some prototypes built.
The first units were made after three weeks of contacting various vendors and getting the work done.

About

I built these rings to make it more fun to workout at home. Plus I wanted to maintain grip strength for rock climbing. Combining the versatility of gymnastics rings with the features of a hangboard.
