Happy Tail Tracker
Pet health app. Log health, meds, feeding, & milestones
I’ve been building side projects for a while, and kept coming back to the same problem: pet data is scattered everywhere.
Health records, meds, feeding, notes, they all live in different places. And when something actually matters or you're in the middle of an emergency, you end up digging through texts or trying to remember what happened when.
So me and my partners joined together and built Happy Tail Tracker.
Tech stack is React Native (Expo) + Firebase. Kept it simple so we can move and iterate fast.
Core idea:
one timeline for everything (health, meds, feeding, notes, milestones)
quick logging without friction
shared access with family, sitters, or vets
Soft launched on iOS + Android.
Right now I’m focused on:
tightening onboarding (where people drop off)
validating which features actually stick vs sound good
figuring out repeat usage patterns
The bigger challenge (as expected) is distribution. The space is crowded, but most apps feel either overly clinical or too shallow to be useful long-term. There’s a gap somewhere in the middle.
This feels like one of those products where:
the build is the easy part
distribution and positioning are everything
I’m especially interested in connecting with people who:
have experience scaling consumer apps
understand growth in mobile (paid or organic)
or have access to audiences in the pet space
Not actively “raising” right now, but open to the right conversations if there’s strong alignment on growth and distribution.
Happy to share more details or trade notes with anyone building in a similar space.
About
Wanted a vet agnostic app for tracking all of my pet's information as well as tracking their health, food, medications, etc.

This is a good "use case first" product. For consumer mobile, I’d be careful not to position it as a general pet tracker. The wedge might be one high-stress moment: vet visit prep, sitter handoff, meds schedule, or feeding history. If one of those creates a clear "I need this now" moment, onboarding and repeat usage get a lot easier to measure.
