Metrya.ai - Apple Health AI Advisor

Your Apple Health data, actually explained

August 12, 2026 Building iOS apps has been a fascinating journey

I initially created Metrya as a simple BYOK LLM proxy: connect your preferred provider and ask ChatGPT or Claude questions about your Apple Health data - something I felt was missing from Apple’s native Health app.

Privacy was important from day one. I didn’t want to sit between users, their sensitive health data, and an LLM, so none of my apps use a backend to store personal data.

Over the past four months, Metrya has evolved from a chat-style app into a broader health-tracking toolkit. It now supports:

- Caffeine, water, sauna, and cold-plunge tracking

- AI-powered nutrition logging

- Recovery and Body Battery calculations

- A stress monitor launching this week

- And more features driven directly by user feedback

The most rewarding part has been the community. Some users genuinely want to participate in the product’s development - sharing ideas, testing features, and helping shape what comes next. At the same time, I’ve been surprised by how often feedback seems to go unanswered by other health and wellness apps.

Another thing I’ve learned: many people appreciate a subscription-free model. AI features are optional - you can add a one-time $10 OpenAI or Anthropic credit that can last for months, or use Google Gemini Flash with its free API tier.

It’s still early, but it has been a great learning experience so far.

If you want to explore your Apple Health data with AI without another monthly subscription, give Metrya a try: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/metrya-health-ai/id6760779874)

About

I built Metrya because Apple Health is missing a crucial thing - Proper AI Advisor but at the same time I want to stay in control of my Health Data so I can select LLM provider and proper AI Model. No subscriptions
