November 1, 2021 App Re-Design

Since the app we did was solely based on Tailwind, without any of our branding, it's time we branded it with the Harvel brand and vision.

It's very important that you launch as soon as possible, and do iterations later, rather than making sure everything is perfect.

That's why we did not bother as much with design, as much as we did with the functionality. Proof of concept 🤘

May 21, 2021 First Customer(s)

The morning after the interview, after the rejection, we got our very first customer! 🥳

We all very quickly forgot about YC, and remembered why we are doing this.

We constantly looked at "FullStory", to make sure something in production does not go awry.

May 20, 2021 YC Interview

The day after we launched the product, we had a scheduled interview with Y Combinator for the S21 batch.

The interview went very well, and YC definitely understood the problem we're trying to solve. But at the time, we had no customers, so we were rejected. No hurt feelings, we have a bold vision of what we're building, so we went on.

Time to first customer 😌

May 18, 2021 Development Time

We formed a team of 4 builders, decided who's doing what, and we assigned tasks and sprints.

MERN was the tech stack of choice for this app.

In 2 months we built a search algorithm that scans the web for piracy and copyright infringement.

Time to market 📢

March 10, 2021 #CreatorEconomy

Working in e-commerce for 5 years, I got to collaborate and work with great creators and see the creator economy establish and grow.

We saw a big, unresolved problem in the creator economy - Piracy and Copyright Infringement.

Premium Shopify Themes, WP Plugins, were widely available for free, with a simple Google Search. That meant that the developrs did not earn a dime on that.

Time to build 🏗️

About

Piracy and copyright infringement is a big revenue leak in today's creator economy. Creators put so much time and effort into their product, only to have it stolen by pirates, and redistributed for free, losing sales.
