Hasibu

Finally decided to start building Hasibu!

I tweeted my struggles understanding my Mpesa spending, my decision to build Hasibu and asked anyone interested in an invite to DM their email address and what they'd do with the app.

20 people reached out in the first 3 days!

I think it's worth building.

The plan was to build it in a weekend but it doesn't seem feasible while still working full-time.

I'll ship it in 3 weeks 🚀

After signing up for Lunch Money, I wanted an easy way to upload my Mpesa transactions.

Mpesa sadly only offers PDF statements. I reached out to their customer support and csv statements was not a feature they supported or were going to support anytime in future.

I asked around on Twitter but there didn't exist a good solution for this either.

So i wrote a script to convert these into a csv file that I could upload.

Then I thought, this could be useful for a lot of other people! I just sat on the idea, essentially trying to figure out why nobody had built it yet 😅
