March 2019 SEO is difficult for Desktop vs Online Tools

It is very difficult to rank a desktop tool when you compete with SAAS/free online tools. The competition naturally gets more referring queries/return visitors and clicks on Google just being an online tool.

March 26, 2019 Influx of sales when Google rolls an update

Every time I see a sudden increase in sales in a short window of time, I know that Google is rolling out an update. The increase in revenue does not have anything to do with what I've changed recently. It has always been due to G's update. Be careful how you interpret website changes to organic/revenue performance.

April 2016 Mac OS X version released

I ported the app to Mac OS and it helped get a few more links and sales. Purebasic which I use made is relatively simple to port the UI for Mac OS. Using WinHTTP for the Windows and LibCurl for the Mac version was a bit of hassle, but one day I'll switch both to LibCurl.

March 3, 2016 Wrong Initial Market

Released the app as a specialized technical SEO for auditing website migrations. Found there was little search traffic for such tool and repositioned it as a general bulk url status code and redirect checker.
