Helik

Today is probably a significant day for me. I started this project more than a year ago, motivated by my own difficulties in learning English, aiming to solve a common problem for everyone. I’ve been developing the project for over a year, personally sustaining all development costs with funds from my main job and support packages for AI startups. I constantly listen to user feedback, striving to improve and optimize the product every day…

There were times when I felt like giving up because there were no users. Then, when I did have users, I felt discouraged because there were still no sales. But I always reminded myself of major companies that went through similar struggles, such as:

• Airbnb had zero bookings for many initial months, almost went bankrupt, but is now a multi-billion dollar company.

• WhatsApp also didn’t make any money for the first two years.

• Most salespeople quit after six months if they haven’t closed a deal, or as Usain Bolt once said, “Most people give up after two months of not seeing results, while I spent years training just to be able to run fast for nine seconds.”

Therefore, I have always used these stories as motivation for my own development. And it’s truly wonderful that today I got my first order (subscription) in over a year. It’s not huge, but it makes this a meaningful start and marks the beginning of a new journey on the product development path.

From 0 to 1…

I wish everyone perseverance and success on the path they have chosen.

Founder of Helik,

Jacky

Hi! I'm Jacky, the person who started Helik.

At Helik, we think learning English shouldn't be super hard or boring. We are a team of people who love languages, teaching, and cool tech. We came together to make preparing for tests like the IELTS easier, smarter, and much more fun!

Our Story: Fixing a Big Problem 💡

Our adventure began because we noticed something: lots of students get stuck on the IELTS writing part. They felt stressed and didn't know how to get better. Old ways of studying took too long and were often really boring. We knew we had to find a better way!

So, we mixed our teaching smarts with Artificial Intelligence (AI)—that's super-smart computer help—to create Helik. Helik is like a smart writing coach that gives you personal tips and ideas. Our goal was simple: to give students the tools to ace their English tests without all the worry.

Now, we're building a whole English learning playground!

Helik's Super Features: Learn Every Skill!

Helik uses smart AI to help you learn everything you need. You can practice all four main skills:

• Practice Speaking with AI: Chat in real time with a computer 'examiner'! It checks how clearly you talk, how good your words are, and if you sound confident.

• Personal Writing Checks: Send us your essays. You'll get detailed notes on your grammar, word choice, and ideas—just like a real teacher would give!

• Fun Mini Tests: Try short practice tests for reading and listening. You get time limits, audio practice, and instant explanations for every answer.

• Build Your Vocabulary: Learn new words with smart lists, example sentences, and quick flashcards that fit your level.

• Play to Learn! We have quizzes, challenges, and leaderboards to make learning feel like a fun game.

• See Your Progress: Use our special board to track how well you're doing, see what you're good at, and set goals.

• Helpful Tips & Tricks: Read our blog for smart advice and tutorials on English and tests like IELTS.
