October 4, 2019 Broke 50,000 users!!!

I'm actually blown away by this. In March we had 20,000 users.

What lead to this growth, was though being super active and listing to users feedback. Growing the brand, that was frendly and a personal store.

We also launched the new video and website to match the branding.

      Thank you!

I don't want to give exact figures but what I can say. I using Google payments for the Chrome extension, it was awful, and you have to wait for 30mins for the subscription to become valid.

I recently changed to stripe, and payments are coming in a lot easier and it's over five digits a month

Looks like a really cool and helpful product!
What were you first steps before launching the product?
How did you get your first users?

    Thanks and congrats again :)

They came from SEO and the market place not having a lot of apps for people with dyslexia.

The issue came when it wasn't free anymore. I made the mistake of charging for features that weren't willing to pay. So I made it a goal always to release every two weeks and after a few months. I had enough feedback, reviews, and features to start charging.

this is AWESOME, robert! :) congrats on the success and especially on getting there with a tool that solves an actual problem! thinking about just paying the subscription, even though i don't have issues with dyslexia :D

That you so much for the kind words! <3

Yeah, its funny, it started out for people with dyslexia then started to expand. Their is people who have poor vision who just use it to increase the font on pages.

Then most people love the text to speech features too.

    Hi Robert,

    Congrats!
    What are your acquisition channels?
How much did you spend on acquisition?

    Thanks!

      Hey Maxshash,

      Thank you !

What are your acquisition channels and how much did I spend?

Besides my time, I spent zero. I did however spend thousands of hours, replying to messages people looking for recommends on social media, groups. Then SEO and the website tracking key words played a huge part.

Another thing I tried to do is reply within an hour to every comment and that built a brand of sorts for but helperbird and myself. Which gave people the trust in it. I did make alot of mistakes too

That's cool. I like how it's meant to empower your audience, to make their lives easier and them more powerful.
What's your plan for the future?

    1. 2

Thank you for the kind words!

The plan is to grow and add more features that have been requested.
One major plan for the feature is to add a iOs or iPadOs app.

Then positon it to be either bought out from a company that can help bring our mission to fullest.

March 26, 2019 20,000 users

Though marketing and improving the software to what the users needed.

Also what helped was the great reviews and responding to users on social media.

How did you get your first 100 or so users? You mentioned "marketing", but what specifically.
And did you reach out to your first signups by email to ask them for feedback? If not, how did you know what the users needed?
