First paying customers
3 years ago, I built a prototype in a weekend that solved the core issue my community was experiencing.
Fast forward to today, we have began the process of transitioning them from the old prototype to the new platform.
Having a successful, validated idea live as a prototype for years before building the final product was key to getting these first customers.
January 22, 2022
Launched
After months of mornings and evenings, I finally launched Herald!
In order to reach this goal:
- I set an inflexible launch date 4 months from project start
- I greatly cut back on the non-necessary features, leaving only the essential functionality
- Worked on the project every day, 6 days a week
- Used familiar tooling (Django) and reduced as many technical dependencies as possible
