The Strategic round of Heroes & Empires has closed with $1.5 Million raised through strategic fundraising.

We knew that gaming grew during the pandemic, and game investments and acquisitions have seen a boom as well. If you combine gaming with blockchain, that can only get hotter, right? Some believe that blockchain gaming is the tipping point for mass adoption. Games can now ‘play-to-earn’ on the blockchain, and Heroes & Empires game that you don’t want to miss. It is more than a concept. It is a game with the potential to reach over 1 Million active users and generate $25 million gross merchandise value per day.
It may sound like an outlandish idea, but in only a decade we’ve seen exponential growth in new careers, such as being a streamer or a YouTuber. Heroes & Empires is a company formed by a group of players, all of whom play games where they can earn cryptocurrency rewards.

An NFT game competition co-hosted by Axie Infinity, Kyber Network and Tomochain.
The Hackathon
On Sunday, August 22, 2021, the Final of “Game2Blockchain” was co-hosted for the first time by key founders of many notable blockchain projects including Axie, Tomo, Kyber Network, VCC Ex, TFI and HUB. The event took place on Facebook live with the participation of the 12 most prominent NFT gaming projects from Vietnam.

Rules: The final consisted of two rounds. In the first round, each team’s representatives had 15 minutes to present their project and answer Q/A from the judges. The second round was hosted live on Facebook, with each team had 1 minute to explain the key features of the game. The top 3 projects were judged based on criteria such as idea, creativity, product, gameplay, play to earn, tokenomics, technical development, etc.

The presentation from Heroes & Empires
About the game, Heroes & Empires is a strategy game that combines the distinctive elements of Idle RPG and the tactics of auto chess, connected with blockchain technology. The game is developed on Unity engine with modern gameplay and high-end graphics, separating it from the rest. Heroes & Empires will be compatible on both PC and mobile to bring the best experience to players.
During the one-minute live presentation, Giang Anh — Head of Product at Imba shared:
“Heroes & Empires is a NFT game that combines the idle RPG style and auto-battler mechanic, specifically the teamfight tactic. People can imagine an Idle role-playing game combined with the gameplay of LOL Chess. The difference of our game compared to current NFT games is that our game is completely 3D, and the graphics are among the top 1 on the Vietnamese market today. Secondly, the game supports NFT burn mechanism. Users can burn NFT heroes of the same type to ascend and increase the rarity of the main hero. And finally, the core of H&E is built on the experience of Imba Studio through many successful games in the past that had attracted millions of users and excellent feedback. This experience is the key to ensure the quality of H&E in both gameplay and graphic design.”
After 12 teams had finishing up their presentations, Axie’s Co-Founder & CEO, Trung Nguyen took his stand on screen and shared his views on the competition:
“First of all, I will have a few words for the teams in the top 12, as well as the other teams. As I shared at the beginning of the program, Vietnam has a great advantage to become an NFT Game HUB. I hope through this program, the motivation and passion can spread to the teams inside and outside the program. Personally, I really hope to be able to help NFT game development in Vietnam. Regarding the selection criteria of the judges and the advisory board for top 3, the team with an official product will have the advantage because it proves the team has put a lot of effort into the project. The second criterion, I think many teams focus on tokenomics a lot, but forgot about the most important thing, the game itself. It’s a game, so it must be fun and enjoyable, then comes the blockchain or play 2 earn element. These are the criteria the judges rely on to evaluate the teams.
And finally, congratulations to Heroes & Empires for winning the top 1 of this contest. I want to share a little bit with the Heroes & Empires team. I think the team has the potential to go very far. Of course, it depends on the direction of the team's strategy in the future. But I do hope H&E will choose correctly to not only be successful in terms of game but also in a long-term development.”

Aftermath
Winning the competition is a good start for Heroes & Empires. The award from “Game2Blockchain" will act as our first step toward a bigger market. Having the game recognized and highly rated by top-notch advisors lit up our passion and made us more motivated in continuing to bring the best gaming experience for users.
