March 2, 2018 Launched MVP

After several months of nights and weekends, I launched a basic MVP version of the web app. It is built on top of the Node Hackathon boilerplate and uses React in the resume builder section.

Not sure why this section has to be so long................

Congrats on launching. How did you stumble upon this problem? How do you know this is a problem waiting to be solved?

Thanks! It did feel good to finally push a side project live, even if it is a rough MVP. For years I would start things and not get them across the finish line. In terms of the problem it's solving, Hireground is really just a case of scratching my own itch.

Well that's the best kind of itch. But is it an itch as in you want your resume to be a website or you read a lot of resumes and wish they were websites?

Excellent question! For me, it was just about making it easier to update my own resume, but I can certainly imagine a consistent, online format helping hiring managers who have to wade through tons of applicant resumes. I hadn't thought about it from that point of view.

About

For years now, I've updated my resume in various formats; Word docs, PDFs, HTML, etc. I created Hireground to have one easy way to keep my resume up to date - and so others might benefit as well!
