Find jobs that actually match you
A couple of years ago I was deep in my own job search in the US. I'm an international candidate, which means one question hangs over every application: does this company sponsor visas?
You'd think that would be easy to find out. It isn't. So the cycle went like this: find a promising role, tailor my resume, write the cover letter, apply, sometimes pass a screen or even multiple interview rounds, and then hear "unfortunately we can't sponsor at this time." Weeks of effort, gone. Repeat that dozens of times and it stops feeling like bad luck and starts feeling like a broken system.
And honestly, the visa thing was just the sharpest edge of a duller, bigger problem. Job boards are built for volume, not fit. They show you 10,000 listings and call it a feature. Keyword search misses roles you'd be great for and buries you in ones you'd never take. Half the postings are stale or were never real to begin with.
I'm an ML engineer by day, building computer vision systems in production. The matching problem is genuinely solvable with today's tech, and it bugged me that nobody had done it properly for job search. So nights and weekends, I started building.
That became Hiro. It pulls over 800,000 live jobs directly from company career pages and ATS systems like Greenhouse, Lever, and Workday, so listings are fresh and ghost-job free. Every job gets scored against your full profile: skills, experience, salary expectations, location, career goals, and yes, work authorization as a first class filter. You see a match percentage before you spend a minute applying. There's a built in H-1B sponsor database, so the heartbreak scenario I lived through just doesn't happen.
Along the way it grew into a full toolkit: an AI resume builder that tailors your resume per job, mock interviews to practice with, and auto apply for roles you match strongly with. The matching also learns from what you save, skip, and apply to, so it gets sharper the more you use it.
I'm a solo founder, bootstrapped, no investors. It's free to start, and I ship fixes fast, so if you try it and something's off, tell me. The feedback from people in the middle of their own search is what shapes this thing.
If you've ever felt like job searching is a second unpaid job, Hiro is my attempt to fix that. Would love for you to try it: hirocareers.com

Spending hours tailoring applications only to discover sponsorship isn't available is a frustrating loop that a lot of candidates run into.
One thing job seekers often underestimate is how much application quality matters once the matching step becomes more accurate.
Have you found that users trust the match score immediately, or do they still manually review most listings first?
Interesting build.
The thing I'd be careful with is that products like this often get judged by the feature that attracts attention, but paid for because of a different problem entirely.
Right now Hiro can be seen as a job board, matching engine, visa filter, resume tool, interview tool, or auto-apply tool.
The risk isn't having too many features. The risk is collecting feedback before you're sure which problem users believe they're hiring Hiro to solve.
That's one of those decisions I'd be careful making casually.
