Hockey App(s)

It'll massively help reduce organizer friction

May 23, 2019 Finishing my final Full stack project

I joined a bootcamp this Feb and it's full stack, which was huge for me, because I've been both wanting to code my own projects/ideas and switch to a career in software development full time.

Been casually coding a while, but really wanted to go next level.

With this project I'll lay the foundation for being able to co-found tech startups as a solopreneur or as a co-founder. I'm excited either way and it's a huge milestone, because as of right now all my Hockey App(s) are only on paper.

After next week I'll update with first steps.

If someone is interested in co-founding a company and has previous experience as an entrepreneur, has cash/skin already in the game or wants to join me then reach out. I'm still at the "I can be talked into other ideas stage".

Looking forward to hearing from others; technical, not technical or just simply sharing our experiences and lessons learned.

Good luck Roger! I like the idea and the sports industry sounds fun, however I wonder what your competition will be-I'm sure there are alternatives out there, what will make yours unique? Do you have insight into hockey leagues and the ins and outs?

Hi @noahb those are good questions. You are right there is a decent amount of competition and I've refereed hockey these past 6-7 years for two reasons.

      1. I love hockey
      2. I wanted to understand the business because I felt there were many opportunities in the market.

Based on my industry experience, background in sports, connections and coding I'm feeling positive and leading towards confident that I'll find some traction in what I produce.

About

Right now the industry doesn't have lots of good software that helps leagues do their work, managing teams, timekeepers, referees, etc. I aim to streamline that whole process and integrate some amazing new tools too
