Track and share your investment portfolio with others
This has been a real grind and I am definitely not at product market fit right now. But there are pockets of people interested enough in the idea to sign up, and most of them will at least add a few investments to kick the tires and check Holfolio out. I'm continuing to make the product better every day and hope to get to the point where people are discovering it and signing up on their own or even telling their friends about it.
Added a new feature where we automatically track the dividends you've received and the amount you have coming up, and create a public post for this as well.
Seems to be a hit with r/dividends (reddit is great for targeted outreach!) as I've had the most signups ever today.

I signed up to check it out. Nice work on the site. That's awesome how many people you have posting trades on your platform! Though as an index-fund investor, r/dividends is a little scary to me :)
I'm curious -- which API are you using to pull in your stock data?

I recently switched to IEX (the good guys in flash boys if you've read that book) as my previous data provider stopped supporting nasdaq and london stocks without warning. IEX are really good for US, but not perfect for international stocks.-

I have one suggestion -- autocomplete on stock symbols!
I had the expectation it would work like that and kept typing AA (delete) AAP (delete) AAPL, trying to get it to work. It was a bit of a "leap of faith" when I hit submit.

I gave in my notice at work a month ago before the world went crazy, but as I was planning on locking myself down for a few months anyway not much has changed.
I'm now very excited at being able to work on Holfolio all day, every day instead of cramming in a couple of hours wherever I could.
Shared holfolio on the freetrade community (a UK challenger stockbroker I was already a member of). Got a dozen or so new users and more importantly people seem to actually be using it! Despite the bugs being reported, its ridiculously motivating to have real people using it
Completed the basic MVP of tracking your investments in one place, and seeing a public feed of these investments. Compared to SV companies it feels really bare bones, but at the same time its more than just a landing page asking people to put in their email. I think as the whole ethos of Holfolio is show not tell, it would be hypocritical to try and launch with less
Started with a similar project in the summer, but never got it to a standard where I was comfortable sharing it with strangers and let it slide. Renewed enthusiasm about seeing how others invest on Holfolio has led me to signup again and hopefully get more traction this time.
I had the idea in the summer to track all your investments in one place but after a lack of users I lost motivation and let it slide away. However, I had an idea to make it more social and be able to share your investments which instantly lets it stand out from Yolt, MoneyDashboard etc. and gave me renewed motivation!
