Festivo - Holiday API
The best RESTful API offering public holiday information.
Last year has been filled with changes and massive evolution of Festivo and we don't want to stop that. Every day, we’re building new Festivo functionality based on input from our inspiring, global Festivo community.
Today we want to introduce two, small in terms of complicity but huge when it goes for ease of use of Festivo, changes - first of all, you're now able to update your password directly in Dashboard's user details section. In addition to that, we've also added (finally) a functionality to reset your password in case you've might forgotten it.
As well as those minor functionalities and changes, we would like to announce something big coming to Festivo in the upcoming weeks and months. We are working on a new, better version of Festivo. Along new landing page, some upgraded branding, comes much better UX, better usability, but moreover new, better and flexible pricing plans. We will be sharing more detailed information on upcoming changes soon.
We keep our fingers crossed and hope, you'll be with us in the front seats watching Festivo growing!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
I'm crazy proud to announce Festivo has reached $500MRR and over 400 active users!
We're extremely excited about this growth, especially if we keep in mind we've first pivoted from completely free and open service (not even collecting emails of our users, which has backfired after) and then re-branded from Holiday API to Festivo, everything in less than 6 months.
Hopefully we'll keep the pace of growth we have at the moment. We're planning to release some major improvements, such as new dashboard and landing page, finally allowing our users to update their passwords, introducing SEPA payments and free plan for educational institutions.

Due to our mission of becoming a multi-purpose API service provider, we are going to pivot from our original name Holiday API and re-brand as Festivo available at getfestivo.com! We've prepared a new, freshly-looking landing page, completely new branding to cut off from cliche green-and-white branding you can find all over the internet and we're proud to present our refreshed, easier to use dashboard.
Under our new brand, we hope to create a spectrum of products Holiday API will be part of.
In August we hope to release Menorah API - an integrated data-as-a-service API providing users the most robust Jewish calendar and holidays. More countries are also about to be added to Holiday API.
With our free-to-use developer account that does not limit your usage to historical data but allows you to properly build and test through your app using present and future holidays and observances and after launching our distributed API cutting down response time to whooping average of 30ms across the globe, we're certainly the best choice of businesses out there, what's been proved already by the number of customers using it in their small and huge projects.

This is great. I wish the best of luck to you.
It looks like you offer your service through rapidapi.com too. How has that been working out for you?
Hello again guys!
After a long period of time not hearing from me, I'm proud to say I've spent that time working on a new version of Holiday API. Today, I'm even more proud to announce that new version is fully live and serving holiday information not for 17 but 88 locations and countries!
This huge step was drifted from my previous posts regarding the change I was going to introduce - subscription payments. As donations completely failed leaving me with $0 donated between I launched this project up to today (so nearly 9 months), Holiday API is now a paid, subscription-based service.
As I wasn't collecting emails and/or any other information about my users before, I have left a grace period of one week for all of you who may used this service before so you can obtain your very own API key and subscription and to prevent any disruption in service you may be offering and that are dependent on Holiday API.
Cheapest plan starts at $3.33/month so that's a bargain price for that kind of service on the market. It's a launch offer and soon pricing may be adjusted.
Hopefully you'll understand my decision of taking out the only free service of its type.
Regards,
Szymon

The new version is not working properly on my ASUS device. It is showing display error. I have visited https://errorcode0x.com/fixed-asus-error-code-55/ page but didn't get any useful ideas. Help me to fix this.

Couple of days ago we've shared our thoughts and views on donation-based model which basically is not working for us.
This, and a complete lack of external contribution forces us to confirm and announce the decision we've made of changing how we offer our service.
We will be introducing a premium, subscription-based model along with free plan allowing solo developers to still use our API and companies to undergo any necessary testing prior to making their implementations public.
More updates, including features of each plan and pricing, along with terms of usage of the free plan will be announced soon.

Since launching Holiday API in early September 2018 we've been putting loads of hope in donation-based financing model of keeping this project alive.
In January 2018, seeing the increase of usage of 3400% comparing to our first full month of operation, working with big and known companies and seeing even more of them using our service and having literally $0 of donation throughout that time (yes, that's real, literally NO ONE has donated even $1 during the past 5 months) we know that this scheme won't work for us and we're considering switching to a premium, subscription-based model.

Have run into this multiple times before. My latest endeavor being adding a Patreon link to my blog. Tens of thousands of visitors every week and not a penny donated (in nearly a year).
Sadly, this is why the Internet is overrun with ads. Hopefully something like Brave Rewards will help put contributing to creators in the forefront instead of being an afterthought.
Since Jan 1st we have quadrupled our monthly usage (total number of API requests) four times going from 38k in December to 138k on Jan 18th! That's an awesome news and a promise and vision of further growth offering our amazing service to more and more companies and developers worldwide.
