Social campaign briefs made easy.
After our recent Product Hunt launch, we were approached by a MAJOR VC firm that was genuinely interested and excited about our product direction. Until then, We solely focused on the product and learning as much as we could from our early users. A few other smaller VC's and accelerators had reached out in the past, but we politely declined because we felt it was a bit too early, and we've agreed to self-fund/bootstrap as long as we can.
However, this firm was too big an opportunity to pass on. The more established relationships, the better when it comes to this stuff. So we went ahead and booked the meeting. Since we weren't seeking investment, we didn't have a pitch deck prepped. So we got right into creating (from scratch) what became a substantial 20-page deck throughout several 1 AM nights.
Now, we had been demoing Holo privately pretty frequently, so we weren't worried about that, but Mario and I had never presented our business model or product vision to anyone, especially to such a high-profile client—together in tandem. Nothing to worry about, right?
Long story short, we had the meeting yesterday, and it went as well as anyone could hope. We were scheduled for 30m and went 45m, without a full demo of the product! The entire time we focused on backgrounds, our model, and our vision. It felt great to be prepared and have an answer for every question. I couldn't be more pleased with the chemistry and natural exchange my partner Mario, and I have when interacting with clients/customers. That's not something you always get in a business relationship, and I'm more than grateful to have it with Holo.
Oh, and the outcome of the meeting? We haven't received any deposits in our bank account, but we have a follow-up scheduled in 2-3 months to check-in on progress. No better motivator to drive sales harder. Traction, growth, revenue. Time to get back to work!
Quick takeaway: Keep pushing, you never know who might reach out when you're least expecting it. Also, be prepared to switch tasks on a moment's notice if the opportunity seems worth the risk. We didn't start our business with a pitch deck. We started with the product and reacted when the time was right. So far, that seems to have been a good plan, for us at least.
After an unexpected delay yesterday, we're back on Product Hunt today to announce the private #beta launch of our #InfluencerMarketing brief platform. -- https://producthunt.com/posts/holo-5

🚀 3, 2, 1 … Lift off! We’re excited to launch our influencer marketing brief platform in private beta today! - https://www.producthunt.com/posts/holo-5
We saw an opportunity to improve the influencer outreach workflow for brands, agencies, and even existing influencer platforms. Since then, we've talked to hundreds of people along the way of building the version we're announcing today. The coolest part is the impact we can make by design. With Holo acting as a "translator" from Marketer to Influencer, we can increase the speed and quality of original content production. That's something both sides of the house can appreciate, and it ultimately benefits the end consumer.

We ran into a technical snafu with Product Hunt today so our "launch" is postponed until tomorrow. Same page, different time. See you all there!

Over the last several months my co-founder and I have been working in stealth mode talking with potential customers and iterating towards our first release of the product.
We just launched a website to collect beta signups and start gathering general feedback. Our plan is to start giving early access on a one-by-one basis until we iron out some of the kinks!
