How a Silly Camel Idea Turned Into a Real Little Web Project

I wanted to build something simple.

Not another complicated app with dozens of features just a small website that could make someone smile for a minute.

That idea became How Many Camels Am I Worth?

The concept is pretty straightforward: you enter your estimated net worth, and the calculator turns it into a playful number of camels. It is obviously not a serious financial measurement, and that's exactly the point.

I liked the idea of taking something people normally discuss in a very serious way — money and net worth and turning it into something unexpected and shareable.

Why camels?

Honestly, that's part of the fun.

There are plenty of wealth calculators online, but very few answer the much more important question: how many camels would I be worth?

I wanted the experience to be quick, easy to understand, and something people could try with their friends.

Building it

The first version was intentionally simple. The main goal was to get the calculator working, make the experience clean, and see whether people actually found the idea entertaining.

Now I'm working on improving the site, adding useful content, and finding ways to make the experience more interesting without losing the simplicity that made the original idea appealing.

It's still a small project, but I think that's what makes it interesting. Sometimes a simple idea is enough to build something people remember.
