Hum

Hey, I'm Cassandra. I built Hum because every AI coding tool I tried wanted a subscription, an install, or both, and none of them would tell me what they were doing with my code.

I'm a solo dev and a stay-at-home mom. Hum got built on a phone during nap times and after the kids went down. No team, no funding, no roadmap doc, just me and a stubborn amount of hyperfocus.

What Hum does differently:

- Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing to install, nothing to update.
- Bring your own key (Anthropic, OpenRouter, Ollama). Your keys and your files never leave your machine. I literally cannot see them.
- Compare & Merge mode runs two models on the same prompt side by side so you can pick the better answer instead of guessing which model to pay for.
- Transparency mode shows every single API call the tool makes, request and response. No black box.
- Real token counts before you hit send, so you know what a message is going to cost you.

The core stays Free forever. Pro is coming soon with task automation and a few things I'm not ready to spoil yet.
