hunQRy

The easiest way for restaurants to take orders online

Visit Website
December 31, 2020 Decided to shut hunQRy down

Learned a very important question that I should have asked earlier - Is this a product/company or a feature.
Realized that hunQRy was a feature that any of the big players could add (And most had).

Nonetheless, this was one of the best learning experiences I've
had.
Now onward to the future, to work on something that can make the world a little better.

September 16, 2020 Got new users (None paying)

I was able to talk to 5 different restaurants and get them interested. All of them signed up but never actually logged in and used the product.
I understood the importance of "perceived" value based on price. I thought the best way to get customers would be to offer the product for free to start and eventually start charging (Since this was a side project, I wasn't in dire need of the revenue). My belief was that giving customers a long free trial would help identify the customers that truly find value from it and weed out the "bad" customers.
Turns out giving away the product for free gets you users but not customers. While my product offered features comparable to doordash and uber eats, no one wanted to pay for it. Everyone loved the idea and gave us great feedback but noone actually used it to run their operations.

Great learning experience for the next time around.

May 16, 2020 Finished MVP - First demo

In a few weeks, I built the bare bones product that allowed restaurants to take orders online and have the order details emailed to them.
This wasn't ideal since no one want's to check emails continuously for orders, but was enough to get my foot in the door and have my first demo. This also helped understand additional user problems and customize solutions for the first potential user.

April 10, 2020 Came up with the idea

1 month into lockdown and I found myself with a lot of time on my hands. I always wanted to learn to build something from scratch. I decided to build something that could help the restaurant industry.
I learned how to build with bubble.io and started off on my journey.
