Huyu
Low voltage electrical
Hey Indie Hackers community!
I've been a long-time lurker here, soaking up all the wisdom from your SaaS, DTC, and software journeys. Today, I'm hoping to get some of that wisdom for a slightly different challenge.
I work for a company called Huyu Electric. We don't build cool SaaS apps or trendy consumer products. We manufacture "boring" but essential things like circuit breakers, contactors, and other low-voltage electrical components.
The Background: The company has been around since 1989. For over 30 years, it's been successful through the traditional B2B playbook: offline trade shows, a strong distributor network, and word-of-mouth in the industry. It’s a solid, established business.
The Challenge & My "Indie" Project: My mission is to bring this traditional industrial brand into the digital age and build its global online presence. In a way, it feels like an "intrapreneurship" project – trying to build something new within an established structure.
Our first major step was to build a brand-new foreign trade website from the ground up. The goal was to create a modern, clear, and professional "digital front door" for potential clients worldwide to learn about our products and capabilities.

Now that the site is live, the real challenge begins: how do we actually get it in front of the right people? Our target audience isn't on TikTok or Instagram. They are engineers, purchasing managers, and project contractors in construction, energy, and manufacturing sectors across the globe.
Where I Need Your Advice:
I’d love to tap into the collective brainpower of this community.
Feedback on the Website: What are your first impressions of our site? Is there anything glaringly wrong or confusing from a UI/UX, content, or SEO perspective? Any feedback is gold.
Marketing "Boring" B2B Products: Has anyone here successfully marketed a "hardcore" industrial or B2B hardware product online? What content strategy worked for you? Whitepapers? Technical deep-dive blog posts? Video demonstrations?
Beyond LinkedIn: LinkedIn is the obvious channel for B2B, and we're working on that. But are there other, perhaps less obvious, online communities, forums, or platforms where engineers and industrial buyers hang out?
It's a marathon, not a sprint, but I'm excited about the challenge of blending old-school industry with new-school digital marketing.
Thanks in advance for any insights you can share!
