June 8, 2023 Still improving

Like every great creation, Hypersuggest's journey began with a single step: a passionate student noticing a significant gap in the keyword research tool market and taking the initiative to fill it. That initial spark, that commitment to bettering the digital landscape, was what brought Hypersuggest to life.

In its infancy, Hypersuggest was a simple tool with a single purpose: to provide accurate keyword suggestions. It was a raw, unrefined version of what it is today, but it was a step in the right direction, a beacon of potential waiting to be realized.

Over time, we began adding new features. We incorporated the ability to handle up to 1000 keywords and sort them into meaningful clusters. This addition brought a new dimension to Hypersuggest, transforming it from a basic keyword suggestion tool into a comprehensive keyword analysis powerhouse.

As the features grew, so did the complexity of the workflows. We took this as a challenge to streamline the processes, making them intuitive and efficient. This effort led to substantial improvements, making Hypersuggest more user-friendly and efficient, even as the capabilities of the tool expanded.

The journey was never one-sided. We believed in building Hypersuggest alongside its users, taking their feedback to heart and implementing it into the product. We introduced features like returning keyword metrics including search volume, CPC, and SEO difficulty, based on direct user feedback. This commitment to customer feedback helped ensure that Hypersuggest was not only a powerful tool but one that genuinely addressed the needs and pain points of its users.

But the improvements didn't stop at just features and workflows. We also understood that a great product isn't just about what it does, but also about how it feels to use. We embarked on a complete redesign of Hypersuggest with a sharp focus on user experience (UX). We introduced a cleaner, more intuitive design that made navigation a breeze and using the tool a pleasure. The new design, paired with our robust features, helped Hypersuggest provide a seamless and enjoyable experience to its users.

Through each iteration, each improvement, Hypersuggest evolved, always striving to be better, to do more. And the journey is far from over. With the switch to a subscription model, we now have the means to continue our mission of making Hypersuggest the best keyword research tool on the market.

Hi! I can see that you've passed $2k MRR lately, congrats! May I ask what is your main source of paying users?

June 8, 2018 Switched to subscription model

The journey of building and maintaining Hypersuggest has been an incredible experience. However, after much reflection and evaluation of its trajectory, I've decided to shift from offering Hypersuggest for free to a subscription-based model.

This decision was not made lightly, as I value the trust and support of our users, but there are compelling reasons for this change.

First and foremost, the switch to a subscription model allows us to continually enhance the product and provide better service to our users. Free services often face limitations in terms of resources, leading to slower updates, less frequent improvements, and limited customer support. By charging a small subscription fee, we can re-invest these funds back into Hypersuggest, introducing new features, refining the user experience, and ensuring the tool remains at the forefront of keyword research technology.

The second reason is financial sustainability. Previously, Hypersuggest relied on a donation-based model which, while appreciated, generated minimal revenue (around $30 per month). This was insufficient to support the platform's operating costs, let alone provide for growth or development. By implementing a subscription fee, we can ensure the long-term viability of Hypersuggest while still keeping the price affordable for our users.

Lastly, the switch to a subscription model is an essential step for my personal motivation. As the creator, my commitment to Hypersuggest isn't merely about profits; it's about seeing the product I've built from scratch grow, evolve, and deliver value to its users. The revenue generated from subscriptions is a tangible acknowledgement of this value, a token of trust from our users, and a significant motivation for me to continue improving Hypersuggest.

February 4, 2017 Writing the first lines of code

Fueled by the pursuit of a better way to conduct keyword research, I embarked on the journey of creating Hypersuggest. During my studies in Information Systems, I realized a gaping hole in the market – the absence of a truly accurate keyword research tool.

Keyword research tools available were often limited, providing only surface-level insights that fell short of expectations. I yearned for a tool that could sift through the noise of the web, uncovering precise keywords that reflected the true interests of an audience. As a researcher, I knew the power that such precise information held, and yet, there was no solution in sight.

Moreover, I felt the sting of not having an effective clustering tool that could handle up to 1000 keywords and sort them into meaningful clusters. The ability to sort large sets of keywords into coherent groups is crucial to understanding trends, user intentions, and hidden opportunities in the data. Yet, the tools available were lackluster and failed to deliver on this front.
