Ibby
Messaging platform for Marketing, Sales and Support
Listed our messaging platform to compete against other alternatives: https://alternativeto.net/software/ibby/
Does anyone have any tips for making the most of this platform/site?
We've been featured on Betalist, Betapage, Betafy, Startup Tracker, Startup Base, GetWorm. We're gathering forces to launch on Product Hunt, but looking to recruit more beta users before we do.
In the meantime, any recommendations from the Indie Hackers community for more sites and startup listings we could submit Ibby to?
Our early bird offer is still live! http://www.getibby.com/beta-launch

17 Sites To Submit Your Products To For Traffic And Sales

I'd recommend https://alternativeto.net. The traffic I got was never amazing but it was consistent.
I also found the site useful to help identify competitors (and their competitors) which I could take to other tools to see where they were getting listed.

I compiled a list of such sites. It’s out-of-date, but does have a few places to consider: http://www.erickarjaluoto.com/blog/places-to-post-your-startup/

We're excited every time someone signs up with our beta product, but we have two challenges:
1- We want to get more people to sign up
2- We want the sign ups to get active with the product
Ideas, tips and experience-based suggestions are most welcome!!
our page for beta signups is here:

What sort of beta product are you trying to promote?
Without knowing what you're working on, my go-to advice would be to go where your ideal target market is. If you're marketing towards moms, post in mommy facebook groups, if your ideal market is entrepreneurs, post on forums or try and get featured in podcasts.
- Try to offer some sort of incentive for trying the beta version. Is the full version paid or a subscription? Offer up your beta users a month free if they interact and provide feedback for the beta version.
Hope this helps!

Thanks! The product in question is a live chat platform with workflow automations.
The targeting is a bit of challenge in itself at the moment because our beta product, with a focus on live chat for websites, can be used by an incredibly broad range of businesses. But as we build more specific industry-related features (for instance, chatbot templates for different industries), we are hoping to target businesses and get better results.
We are offering 3 months free to our early adopters. As I said, we have some people signing up but for some reason aren't active with the product yet.
Appreciate your input!

Have you reached out to them to see why they haven't been using it? Often if someone hasn't been using a product it's because they have some sort of issue with it (either setting it up or using it) and don't have the time to get help for it unless it's an exceptionally integral part of their business.

Don't have any tips, but I use AlternativeTo to find software all the time, so I really hope it turns out to be a good thing for you.
I listed one of my previous projects on AlternativeTo, but with disappointing results so I don't really have any tips. How have the other channels (BetaList, BetaPage, etc) worked out for you so far?
Hi Joao, thanks for your message. Betalist was good, we got over 100 leads who subscribed to our beta list from there and we didn't even have to pay for the listing. BetaPage wasn't as effective but also got a few subscribers. Tried a few others which resulted in maybe a total of 10 leads, very little but then again these are free tools so maybe we can't expect much more
No tips, but would love to hear how it goes, I hope you can share some results in the future!
thanks, will do :)
