Better than building SAAS?

After I watched a couple of podcast episodes on youtube from people doing productized services and having a lot of success and seemingly much faster to get started than coming up with some new SASS idea, then trying to validate it, find users and then maybe a year later you'd still make less MRR than just having a full time job — I figured why not try and do one myself.
