Idea to Launch: Software Product Planner
90 day planner to help you plan and track your product
Finally able to update the website. The biggest design change here was adding extra images and adding the ebook to the site as well.
I'm not overly excited about these changes. I think webflow descriptions are pretty restrictive so I'll probably end up changing the description again to try to fit the site.
I finally made my first sale thanks to a friend. I'm gratefully for them being the first buyer and essentially testing out my workflows. I've been trying all types of wording for advertising and I'm not sure any of it is really working the way I want. I think reddit ads might work pretty well if I can get the right wording. I only ordered 25 books so I'm looking to have them all gone by October.

You are doing it wrong. You will have to provide a sample of the book for free and also easily accessible Table of Content. Nobody would drop $35 on a page with 1 image and 2 sentences to buy a book from guy there is nothing about. Except your friends. Based on your approach of launching this, I would bet the book is pretty light on marketing and heavy on the IT side.

Your assumption is extremely wrong. I didn't do anything wrong if I'm learning. My original testing ground was twitter so there was video, pictures, and detailed descriptions for the book for weeks. The site hasn't been updated since the initial release, but I'm for sure not giving a sample for free even after the images are updated.

I finally got printed proof of the planner and I thought to make a twitter thread about it. I went through every section of the planner using a sample personal project and started building a new website so that I could sell by Aug. 13th.
The thread got a lot of good reaction but I wonder if I shouldn't have done this without having the website together, or have a way to preorder.

I had been sitting on this idea for awhile about a way to help people get over getting stuck when making software products. It was on this day I thought it was time to take the leap and ask for help from a friend about setting everything up for the planner. I had an idea in Figma and I paid a designer to help me put all my ideas into a better more cohesive design.

I wanted to share my methodology for completing software products. I see a lot of people get stuck when they want to tackle a new idea and are unsure about what's next. I want to help prevent that.
