January 18, 2026 🚀 We built IdeaProof because building is easy. Wasting months is even easier.

Hey IH 👋

I want to share why we built IdeaProof and what we’re trying to solve, without pitch-deck BS.

Building products has never been easier. You can spin up a SaaS in a weekend now. AI, no-code, boilerplates, templates… everything is fast.

The problem is: it’s also never been easier to waste 3, 6, 12 months building the wrong thing.

I’ve done it. Friends of mine did it. Probably most of you did it at least once.

You start with an idea that feels great. You build. You ship. And then… nothing. Or worse: a few users, some hope, but not enough to justify the time you’re putting in. A slow zombie product.

That’s where IdeaProof started.

The original problem

I didn’t want “another idea generator” or “another ChatGPT wrapper”.

I wanted something brutally practical:

A way to sanity-check ideas before going all in.
Not vibes. Not motivation. Not “sounds cool”. Real market context.

So the first version was just:

  • describe the idea

  • get a viability score

  • see market size, competitors, risks

And even that already helped kill a bunch of bad ideas early.

Then we realized something

Even when an idea looks good, people still get stuck.

They don’t know:

  • how to explain it to investors

  • how to turn it into a real plan

  • how to position it

  • how to even start launching it

So we kept adding pieces, one by one:

  • market & competitor analysis

  • business plan generation

  • brand positioning

  • logo & basic visual identity

  • launch assets

At some point we looked at it and realized:

This is no longer “just a validator”.
It’s basically a startup factory.

What IdeaProof is today

In practice:

  1. You describe an idea in plain English.

  2. The system analyzes it across ~50 criteria using live market data.

  3. You get:

    • viability score

    • risks

    • market size (TAM/SAM/SOM)

    • competitors

  4. If it looks promising, you can:

    • generate a real business plan

    • shape the brand

    • generate a logo and basic visuals

    • prep launch assets

All in one flow.

It’s not meant to replace thinking.
It’s not meant to magically make bad ideas good.

If anything, its main job is to kill bad ideas early and help you move faster on the few that might actually work.

The uncomfortable truth

Building is not the hard part anymore.

Deciding what’s worth building is.

We’re trying to build a tool for that.

Current status

  • Used by ~10k founders

  • Still shipping every week

  • Still breaking things and fixing them

  • Still learning a lot from users

What I’d love to hear from you

  • How do you personally validate ideas today?

  • At what point do you usually realize you’re building the wrong thing?

  • What’s the most time you’ve wasted on a product that went nowhere?

  • If you had a “startup factory”, what would you want it to do?

Happy to answer anything, even the uncomfortable questions.

Thanks for reading 🙏

Congrats on the launch, looks solid. What channels are you experimenting with to get early users?
