Schedule when to scale up/down your servers and databases

September 13, 2020 My first landing page and my idea for a product

Some months ago, in the company that I currently work, we started to use cronjobs to scale up our database in the morning and down at night and weekends. We should be doing it for a long time before because it cut our costs with database in half.

After that, we start to create cronjobs to pause every development instances at night, scale down others only on the weekend, and more. We start saving even more costs with infrastructure by doing this.

But each cronjob runs in a different machine now, it's not clear for other devs where the script of each cron is (sometimes we need to modify when they run), and it takes some time to create new scripts to integrate with new cloud providers apis - like google compute engine, atlas mongodb, etc.

My idea is to solve these problems and I almost have a finished MVP. It has a user-friendly interface that allows you to scheduler the infrastructure actions like the ones I mentioned. It takes care of cronjobs and integrates with public apis of multiple cloud providers.

I would love to hear feedback about the idea and the landing page. Thank you in advance.

Do your clients only use your servers during the daylight? Using idleless, you can schedule to scale down your database and servers at 8pm every day and scale up again in next morning.
