ikanban
Free Kanban board. Built for velocity.
Hey IH,
I just launched https://ikanban.org — a real-time Kanban board built for developers and teams that have outgrown per-seat pricing.
The frustration that started it...
I kept paying $10/user/month for tools that treated the API as a premium upsell and made automation feel like a chore. Every time the team grew, the bill grew. And none of them were built for the way I actually work — scripts, CI/CD hooks, and increasingly, AI agents that need to push and pull task data programmatically.
So I built the thing I actually wanted.
What I built:
- REST API with simple Bearer token auth — full CRUD on boards, columns, cards, checklists, and automation rules. Not a limited read-only API. The actual API.
- WebSocket real-time sync — updates in under 50ms. No polling.
- Native AI agent skill — LLM pipelines can create cards, move tasks, trigger automations, and subscribe to live events without middleware.
- Unlimited automation rules — move cards on due date, auto-assign on priority change, post comments, all without code.
- Organizations, role-based access (owner/admin/member), swimlanes, checklists, labels, notifications.
- Flat pricing: $9/month for up to 25 team members. That's it.
The tech stack
Go + Gin on the backend, PostgreSQL + Redis, Gorilla WebSocket for real-time. React 18 + TypeScript + Vite + Tailwind on the frontend. Runs in Docker, Kubernetes manifests included,
Where I am right now
- Site is live at https://ikanban.org
- Free tier available, no credit card required
- Looking for early users and honest feedback — especially from teams coming off Trello or Linear
What I'm not sure about
Pricing. I went flat rate because I hated per-seat billing as a user, but I'm genuinely unsure if $9/month for 25 seats is leaving money on the table or if it's the thing that gets people to switch. Would love to hear what you think.
Happy to answer questions about the build, the stack, the AI agent angle, or anything else. Thanks for reading.

About
I needed a modern Kanban application with a full coverage REST API for my agents to track projects.
