ImageSEO

You're right that doing this manually at scale is a nightmare - that's exactly the workflow ImageSEO automates. It bulk-generates alt text and renames the actual files in one pass, so you're not juggling two separate tools.

On the Google vision AI point - filenames do matter as a relevance signal, but the "cross-referencing with page content for topical authority" framing is a bit overstated. Google primarily uses filename and alt text as descriptive signals when its crawler can't fully interpret an image. The bigger win is simply being descriptive and consistent, which is what bulk automation makes actually achievable.

To your question: yes, ImageSEO handles both WebP and AVIF conversion during bulk optimization, with automatic fallback for older browsers that don't support AVIF yet. So Core Web Vitals and image discoverability get handled in the same run - you're not making two separate passes.

It is a huge drain on time when you have to manually rename hundreds of files and write alt tags just to make sure your product images actually show up in Google Image Search.

Most people don't realize that Google's vision AI now cross-references your file names with the actual page content to determine topical authority so having descriptive names is just as important as the alt text itself.

Does the plugin also handle the conversion to WebP or Avif formats during the bulk optimization process to help with those Core Web Vital scores?
