Imagetovideoai
AI that turns any photo into a cinematic video in seconds.
Hey IH 👋
I'm Ning, a solo builder . Today I want to share the product I'm quitting my corporate job for: ImageToVideoAI — AI that turns any photo into a cinematic video in seconds.
🎬 The moment it started
A few months ago, I was sitting with my parents, going through a box of old prints — my grandparents in their 30s, my mom as a little girl, relatives who aren't here anymore. At one point my mom said quietly:
"It would be nice if they could move, even for a second."
That sentence didn't let me go.
Around the same time, the new generation of video models — Seedance 2.0, Kling 3, Wan 2.7, Grok Imagine — finally crossed the line from "cool demo" to "actually usable." But for a normal person who just wants to animate one old photo, every tool I tried was the same: too technical, too expensive, watermarked across the memory, and forcing users to compare 10 models they've never heard of.
So I built the thing I wanted my mom to be able to use.
🧩 What ImageToVideoAI is
One photo. One click. A moment back.
Upload a photo, pick a scene — old photo revival, two people hugging, cinematic landscape, product ad.
The platform routes to the best underlying model for that scene (Seedance 2.0 / Kling 3 / Wan 2.7 / more).
Kling-style workbench: parallel jobs for Pro users, retry on failure, watermark-free download, one-click detail view.
Free tier to explore; Stripe-powered Pro plans for higher resolution + priority queue.
🛠 Stack (for fellow builders)
Frontend: Astro + Tailwind
Infra: Cloudflare (Workers + R2 + D1)
Payments: Stripe (subscriptions + one-time credits)
AI routing: a thin orchestration layer over multiple video model APIs, with graceful retries
Ops: n8n for automations, GA4 + Search Console for growth
📈 Where I am today
MVP is live, payments verified, first paying users in.
Previous experiment: a hot-word site that got 260k visits in 24h and ~$2k ad revenue — taught me a lot about SEO-driven acquisition, which I'm now applying seriously to ImageToVideoAI.
Current focus: finishing animate old photos, two-people hug, French kiss scenes end-to-end, then launching a proper SEO + backlink push.
🧠 Why it exists (the part I care about most)
Lower the cost of remembering someone. 30 seconds, price of a coffee, any grandchild in any country.
Be a warm door into frontier AI. No model cards. Just upload → click → wow.
Prove a solo founder + AI can ship globally — no team, no VC, not in SF.
🤔 What I'd love feedback on
Pricing: does a $9 / $19 / $39 monthly tier with credits make sense, or should I go pure credit-based?
Positioning: lean harder into "animate old photos" as a wedge, or stay broad as a multi-scene image-to-video tool?
First 1,000 users: for a memory-driven product like this, where would you start — Reddit, TikTok, Pinterest, or paid?
If you have an old photo you've always wanted to see move, I'd genuinely love to try it for you and send you back the clip. Drop a comment 👇

About
My mom looked at an old family photo and said, "It would be nice if they could move, even for a second."So I built it — one photo, one click, one moment back.

"It would be nice if they could move, even for a second" — that's the entire pitch, and you already wrote it.
The current landing hero ("Free AI Image to Video · Upload a Photo, Generate in Seconds") is what the SEO handbook tells you to write. The people who'd actually pay to animate their grandparents aren't arriving via keyword search though — they're arriving from a friend who said "try this." Different copy job. Your mom's line does conversion work no feature list can.
Good luck on the leap. Genuinely.
I really like this idea, but i think the name could be tweaked. Imagetovideoai conveys the message but it’s not memorable, and it wont catch someone’s eye if you run marketing
Ning, the story about your mom and the old photos genuinely got me. That's the kind of "why" that keeps you going when nothing is working.
On your questions:
Pricing — I'd lean credit-based over subscription for a memory product. People don't animate photos every month, they do it once for a special moment. A one-time credit purchase feels more natural than a recurring bill.
Positioning — Go all-in on "animate old photos" as the wedge. It's specific, emotional, and shareable. Broad tools are forgettable. A tool that brings grandma back to life for 30 seconds is not.
First 1,000 users — TikTok and Pinterest, but not with ads. Post the before/after yourself. Real family photos, real reactions. That content sells itself.
I'm Shirley from ZooClaw — we're also in early user discovery mode right now, so I know exactly how this stage feels.
Good luck Ning. This one's worth quitting for. 🙌
It is heartbreaking when old family photos just sit in a box because we can't see those moments come back to life Most people don't realize that modern AI can now bridge this gap without needing any complex technical skills Do you think focusing strictly on the emotional nostalgia of old photos would help you grow faster than being a general video tool?
