April 5, 2026 Building ImagiTool: from "one more utility" to a real workflow product

I’m building ImagiTool, a browser-based image editing platform.
When we started, we looked like many other tools: resize, compress, convert, done.

The problem was obvious after talking to users: people don’t work in one-step tasks.
They edit creatively, then do production work, then export for different channels.
Jumping across 5 different tools was slow and frustrating.

So we’re trying to build one connected workflow instead of isolated utilities:

  • creative editing

  • batch-friendly production tasks

  • fast browser-based export

Still early, still learning.

A few lessons so far:

  1. “More features” is not the same as “better workflow.”

  2. Positioning matters as much as product quality.

  3. Clear copy beats clever copy, every time.

What we’re focused on now:

  • making pages and messaging less “tool directory,” more “end-to-end workflow”

  • reducing friction from first upload to final export

  • listening harder before building more

If this is useful, I’m happy to share what’s worked (and failed) in:

  • SEO positioning for utility-heavy products

  • alternatives page frameworks

  • workflow-first homepage messaging

If you’ve built in a crowded category, I’d genuinely love your advice:
What helped you move from “feature product” to “category product”?

Thanks for reading. I’ll be around to help others where I can!
