In My Pocket

Eventually, after months of unfocus work on this latest version, I've released version 0.11.6, with lots of important upgrades (see https://inmypocketaddon.com/changelog.html#0.11.6 for details). This will be the last version of the 0.11.x branch, the next one will start a new minor version cycle, and will bring at least one long-awaited feature. Still need to figure out the release plan for the next set of feature, thanks to the feedback I received here on IH (https://www.indiehackers.com/post/how-do-you-organize-your-backlog-roadmap-tickets-feature-requests-6968ca0c11)

The last year has been pretty intense. I moved to a new city, took on a new amazing job... but as a result, I didn't manage to ship new versions of In My Pocket as much as I'd like. But over time, I've been piling up a good number of improvements, and today I finally got to release this to the world!

Certainly the biggest release since I first started working on In My Pocket, I'm excited!

This month, and given that I have a steadily-growing 15k user base, I thought that there was definitely an interest in this addon and that I could suggest users donate a few bucks for it. Enabled this on the Mozilla addon page, and a few days later, I got my very first 10€ contribution to In My Pocket. Feels incredible 🤗

Maybe it's related to the new Firefox Quantum in September (that got the addon scene all scrambled, and people looking for new addons to replace their previous ones), or to a July Reddit post by a user of my product... as a result, my user base has been growing rapidly lately. And this month, I'm crossing the 10k daily users line 🚀

InMyPocket has always been an open-source project, but I never really expected anyone to be interested enough to contribute to it. Well, I was wrong! Today I got my very first external contribution to the addon, with a real value-packed proposition. This means users care about my product enough to suggest features and help me improve the addon!

I strongly believe that one must get a product out there as early as possible, in order to get feedback and validate users' need for such a product. I definitely don't want to spend countless hours on something that no-one needs. That's why my first achievement was to release an extremely early 0.0.1 version out on Mozilla addons store!
