Indie Thinkers
The brightest writers on the internet.
This site has two goals.
-
Help writers gain a new audience.
-
Introduce readers to remarkable content.
I hope Indie Thinkers can be a new discovery channel for writers. An outlet to help the underdogs of the internet build their own audiences and grow awareness for their work.
I'm a writer, engineer, and massive fan of Hacker News.
Indie Thinkers was heavily inspired by them.
If you have any suggestions or feedback shoot me a message anytime.
Back in 2008, Bill Gates digitized and democratized the process of curating content for his Think Week pilgrimage to a cabin just north of Seattle. I'm excited to explore a similar idea of curation but for writers and creators via a new experiment I'm calling Indie Thinkers, a curated trove of evergreen content.
It's hard for writers to reach a new audience.
It's also challenging for writers to find older "yet still useful" content (evergreen). If you want discover timeless articles on habits, ideation, or personal knowledge management, a Google search isn't the most efficient way to do so.
I originally got the idea for the name "Indie Thinkers” after being a part of the Indie Hackers community (an online group of developers building their own revenue generating side projects). Then, I learned the phrase “Writing is Thinking”.
Boom! An idea is born.
Indie Thinkers = Independent Writers.
Indie Thinkers are individuals participating in the creator economy. Building their own paths, growing their own audiences… thinking out loud, writing without fear.
This project is in its infancy and is 100% under construction.
The dream for Indie Thinkers is for writers to have another place to share their work while also benefiting from a richer reference of evergreen content.
I hope you stick around for the journey. All I ask in return is that you let me know how I can improve a long the way.
