I've always struggled at the thought of being pushy, I tended to just take what I can get, but this was super helpful! I just launched my own app and trying to get some customers
Congrats on launching your app. While you're trying to get some customers, curious if you would give Indie10k a try? You can set a North Star goal like " By 2025-09-30, I will have evidence that 10 new users are signed up SoloTrack" using "Validation" track.
Do you think that having a free plan is still important? Or like a small limited demo?
i do. as i proposed in the blog post, i suggest to open all core features to free plan. but cap on usage. in that way, user staste all goodies and are more happy to upgrade to pro plan.
How would you determine the right limits as to not be too restrictive or loose?
My two cents: you won't know it until you test it. Use TenK 6 Methodology to launch a Monetization track for such an experiment until the measurement meets your desire.
