InstaDL
Download Instagram reels, videos, photos, and stories in HD
One thing I didn’t really understand before building InstaDL is how long it takes for a new site to feel “real” to Google.
At first it was basically invisible. Pages wouldn’t index, Search Console barely showed anything, and even small technical mistakes seemed to have outsized effects. Lately though, after expanding the site structure, improving internal linking, cleaning things up, and adding more actual content around the tool itself, I’m starting to see Google crawl the site much more aggressively.
It’s weird because none of it happens instantly. You make changes and then sit there refreshing dashboards for days waiting to see whether Google actually reacts to them or not.
Feels a lot more like building long-term trust with a system than just “uploading pages and ranking.”
When I first started building InstaDL, I thought the hard part would just be getting downloads working reliably, but..
Turns out that’s only a small part of it.
A lot of the real work has been:
dealing with platform changes constantly breaking things
improving indexing + SEO
cleaning up mobile UX
trying to make the site feel trustworthy in a niche filled with spammy clones
handling infrastructure stuff like APIs, rate limits, Cloudflare/Vercel configs, caching, etc.
One thing I didn’t expect is how competitive this space actually is. There are thousands of nearly identical sites, mass-generated pages, scraper networks, copied designs, and constant churn.
Still, it’s been one of the most interesting projects I’ve worked on because it sits at the intersection of SEO, infrastructure, product design, and creator tools all at once.

I noticed that most Instagram downloaders are overloaded with ads, broken downloads, fake buttons, redirects, or low-quality experiences. InstaDL was built to create a faster, and more reliable way to save content.
