Hi folks,
I just shipped a new version of Instant Emoji! 🚀
This weekend, I introduced the search of emoji in different languages, starting with French and Spanish in addition to English.
I had the opportunity to look at various translations systems to translate my data set.
I discovered translate-shell which provides an interesting wrapper to Google translate, Bing or Yandex (cf https://github.com/soimort/translate-shell).
Results are pretty good, you can now search emoji in English, French, and Spanish 🇬🇧+🇫🇷+🇪🇸= 🔍⚡
You can test the new version here https://instantemoji.nidup.io/
Next step will be to continue to improve the data-set and to fine tune the search engine settings to increase the relevancy.

Hi folks,
Last weekend, I came up with the 💡 that I spend too much time searching for the perfect emoji.
I use them a lot, in various contents and applications and the search feature, when it exists, is often poor and frustrating because super slow.
I gave myself the challenge to ship the fastest emoji search engine I could build. Which also answers another topic of my todo list which is to re-bench existing open source search engines. I gave me the constraint to build it in a couple of days, at max. 💪
My goal is to make the search as fast and simple as possible, mobile and web friendly, and usable with only the keyboard when working on a computer. (yes, let's avoid to use a mouse when we can).
I spent last Sunday on the first prototype and I did today the polish and packaging (bank holiday in France 💃).
It finally took me a dozen of hours to ship, here is the first version https://instantemoji.nidup.io/
I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Thank you! 🙏

I use a lot of emojis, and finding the perfect emoji is often a poor and slow experience. I built this service to solve this problem. I want to make this search experience as enjoyable as possible; for all; and for free.
