Adds instant preview to search engine results page
Instant Preview shows you a site without opening it in a tab

In search results move mouse to a link and you get an instant preview of the site

Supported search engines:

  • Google

  • DuckDuckGo

  • Yandex

    I haven't tried, but it looks as if the links are loaded everytime the user hovers/clicks is that right? To be really useful, you should preload all the news on that first page so that "instant" preview, is really instant. Any sort of delay here will hurt your app.

      Yes, the extension use preload and store website pages in cache

        You are right, I see you are using fetch(). I'm taking a look at your code, hope you don't mind.

        It's relatively fast in about half the sites, but the other sites seem to take a little longer I don't know why. It'd be interesting to do a performance test and see where are the bottlenecks.

        Maybe rendering on 0 opacity would speed it up? I haven't slept so I may say stupid things.

          About perfomance. Rendering is very fast in Chrome browser. Bottlenecks are a network latency and data transfer.
          I am thinking about creating a caching service that will cache top popular sites.

When you are looking for some information in Google or another search engine, you need to open a tab to view the site each time. Over time, switching between tabs is annoying and tedious.
