Instapost
Social media post generator
This week marked two big milestones for Instapost:
- 2 users signed up
- Got approved to start accepting payments
That means this it is officially a product that you can sign up for and purchase now!
My current goal for the product is to incrementally provide value every day if possible. That means making more templates, adding more features, creating more tools, and improving the quality of the product.
I'm also focusing on sharing something on social media every day if possible, too. Right now, everytime I ship something, I post about it on Twitter: https://twitter.com/cammchenry which helps motivate me to keep going.
I am very bad at asking for money.
I understand that I do is valuable, but asking for money feels weird. At the same time, people paying you for your time / your experience is so incredibly validating.
I need that validation to keep going, and know that what I'm working on is valued by people. So I'm trying something different with Instapost.
Normally, I spend many hours before launching trying to perfect my payment processor webhooks, add lots of features, implement auth, optimizing API usage, and so on. Essentially anything except asking people to pay for my product and get validation.
For Instapost, I'm prioritizing pricing right away. I added a price to my landing page, but it's not even set up to charge any money yet. I'm not going to set up my payments until someone signs up. Until then, I'm focusing on building features and marketing the product.
I'll let you know how it goes!
Shout-out to @bastiancreates for finding and roasting my landing page before I even posted it anywhere 😄

Hey all! I'm finally taking my side projects more seriously this year.
I know myself well enough to know that I am constantly changing my mind about what I want to work on. This means I've started so many different side projects?
So, what makes this project different?
Well, I'm actually leaning into the fact that I constantly work on different things!
I chose a very broad product area: image generation. Within this area, there are so many different kinds of images that you can produce.
Some of those images, I reckon, people are willing to pay for and automate.
That's the theory, anyway.
It's very early, but I'm about to launch my first image generation type: testimonials!
Stay tuned for more.

Hey Cam!
I like your project. I have a similar issue, jumping from project to project. Right now I am launching my design agency and doing roasts to fellow indiehackers stuck at $0 MRR.
Here is my take on your website: https://twitter.com/bastiankoh/status/1747693046316114425
About
I wanted to turn my skills into something that I can make money from while I'm sleeping. I wanted to apply my passion to things that I'm good at, and I find myself always coming back to graphics/images.

Congratulations! I just saw this and I'm excited to see you're just starting your IH journey as well!. I just added my first post on my new product (also in the image generation space) so hopefully we can share some thoughts as we go along :)
