July 13, 2022 Doing Sales In the E-commerce Ecosystem isn't Easy...

For insupply.co we've tried multiple things:

  • Facebook Groups
  • Reddit
  • Cold Email
  • Linkedin

We realized that the only people that give us an opportunity are businesses we meet through warm intros.

So we're thinking of building partnerships with different players in the ecommerce ecosystem that might have clients that struggle with sales forecasting.

So far we've got:

  • 2 Marketing agencies
  • 2 Logistics companies
  • 1 E-commerce consultant

I don't expect results overnight, but from the discussions we've had with them I think there's a strong possibility this could be a solid lead generation channel for the long term.

Lastly we're thinking of maybe doing a bit of SEO. I did a bit of research and noticed that sales forecasting for ecommerce businesses is not a very competitive niche. Hopefully we can get some traffic there!

Also Update: We've got 2 brands that are testing the product! we're hopping to close them by end August, that'll put us at $198 MMR 😎

June 21, 2022 Since We Can't Build An MVP, Here's How We're Validating Our Idea

I don't know how to code and neither can my partner.

So how did we build an MVP? By using excel

Since we already knew the output our clients are looking for, it became easy for us to build everything through excel and send a clean and simple report at the end of the month

And we didn't have to hire a dev 🤠

The current goal is to hit 2,500 MMR by early next year. Which is about 25 clients at $99/month

I think we can hit it earlier, but who knows. I'm excited to drop the next update on here!

May 17, 2022 How Offering A Service Helped Me Figure Out My Saas Project

I'm in the e-commerce space. More specifically in logistics.

My partner and I owned a small warehouse where we would take care of shipping orders for a bunch of different B2C brands.

Eventually we realized 2 issues that kept coming up month after month, our clients would:

  • Run out of inventory before the end of the month
    OR
  • Overstock on inventory

In both those scenarios a lot of money is lost.

Lucky for me my partner is amazing with stats, so we started playing around with forecasting models and managed to get some good results for our clients.

We went ahead and started talking to other e-coms as well and realized this is a major issue. So we're here to try and solve it 😎
