The training case makes the product easier to understand, but the real test is what happens after the demo. Do trial users move from PROJECT UMBRELLA into their own real case, or does the fictional workflow remain the main reason they engage?
For years I watched investigation firms run serious cases on spreadsheets, shared drives and long email threads. Evidence gets lost, timelines get rebuilt from memory, and the report is stitched together the night before it is due.
So I built IntelAfri IMT: one secure workspace per case. Intake, evidence, timeline and Word report export in the same place. The AI drafts cite the case record - citing analysts do not fill gaps. If the evidence is not there, it says so instead of inventing findings.
I deliberately refused to build a Magnet-style forensics suite or a Clio-style legal practice system, and I refused scraping or OSINT harvesting. The job is the case workspace, not the data grab.

One question for other founders: for a first touch with an investigation firm, do you get better signal from running one real live case in the tool together, or from just sending the trial link and letting them poke at it?

1That’s a useful question. I’m testing a hands-on first touch: walk through one fictional case end-to-end, then let teams try their own workflow during the 7-day trial. It makes the evidence-to-report flow concrete without asking anyone to migrate everything up front.
