Interview Jarvis
Train your brain with AI, prepare for any job in tech
Developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within a constrained timeframe demands meticulous planning, effective resource management, and a tech stack conducive to rapid development. Here's a breakdown of how I efficiently built the Interview Jarvis MVP in just one week, harnessing the power of Next.js, Express.js, and Daisy UI to deliver a seamless user experience.
Clear Vision and Prioritization:
Much like my methodology with previous projects, establishing a clear vision for Interview Jarvis was pivotal. We meticulously outlined essential features and prioritized them, ensuring the MVP would be both functional and valuable.
Lean Tech Stack:
Choosing a familiar tech stack—Next.js, Express.js, and MongoDB—for their development efficiency was crucial. For design and responsiveness, I used Daisy UI, a CSS framework based on Tailwind CSS.
Minimum Viable Product (MVP):
The MVP encompassed core features such as user authentication, resume upload, mock interview question generation, question-saving functionality, and follow-up generation. Additional functionalities were earmarked for subsequent iterations.
GitHub Repository Utilization:
To expedite development, I tapped into my GitHub repository for the React.js-built dashboard component of Interview Jarvis. The repository (https://github.com/srobbin01/daisyui-admin-dashboard-template) has already garnered over 400 stars.
For the landing page, I repurposed a previously crafted template using Next.js and Daisy UI. The GitHub repository (https://github.com/srobbin01/daisyui-nextjs-landing-page) has served as a time-saving resource in subsequent development endeavors.
Backend Architecture:
Express.js and MongoDB were chosen for the backend, ensuring a robust and scalable foundation. This combination facilitated efficient data handling and storage. Everything is hosted on AWS.
Continuous Testing and Iteration:
Adopting an agile methodology, I incessantly tested the MVP, gathering feedback for swift iterations. This approach guaranteed that the product met user expectations and maintained high-quality standards.
Launch and Feedback:
The MVP was selectively introduced to a user group, with feedback playing a pivotal role in refining the product. This iterative process aligned the platform closely with user needs. Subsequently, we launched on Product Hunt, securing the 2nd product of the day spot (https://www.producthunt.com/posts/interviewjarvis).
Scalability Plan:
Even though the MVP was developed within a week, a comprehensive scalability plan was in place. Future enhancements and expansions were mapped out to accommodate the growing demands of users.
Building Interview Jarvis in just one week was both challenging and rewarding. The amalgamation of a clear vision, a lean tech stack, and strategic GitHub repository utilization significantly contributed to the swift development of a robust MVP, paving the way for continued growth and success.
About
While generic mock interview questions are abundant, they often fall short of capturing the nuances of your resume and experiences. Interview Jarvis generated personalised mock interview tailored to your resume.
