For years, I struggled to keep a consistent trading journal.

I tried everything:

• Excel spreadsheets with formulas

• Notion templates with fancy dashboards

• Even writing notes by hand after each trade

Every time, I gave up within a week. Why?

• Too much friction → opening a file, entering data, formatting, etc.

• No instant reward → I couldn’t “see the value” of my entries quickly

• Easy to fall behind → once I skipped a few days, the whole system collapsed

But the biggest problem: I had no clear picture of my performance. My data was scattered, and I never got insights into why I was losing money or what patterns were emerging.

So I asked myself:

“What if keeping a journal was as easy as just… logging in and writing? What if the value showed up in 30 seconds instead of weeks?”

That’s how I started building Investlog.io (MVP).

Here’s what I’ve built so far:

• ✅ Guest mode → anyone can try it immediately without signup

• ✅ Clean interface for logging trades and notes

• 🚧 CSV import from brokers (in progress) → so you can bring in your trades instantly

I launched the MVP a few days ago.

• Got my first handful of users (super exciting 😅)

• Received early feedback like “CSV import would save me hours” → which I’m now building

• Learned that traders care about simplicity over features. They don’t want another bloated tool.

Honestly, the hardest part hasn’t been building — it’s been getting visibility. Posting here, on Reddit, and LinkedIn is teaching me just how tough early traction really is.
