I was approached by a large strategy consultancy that is not able to create XRechnung XML-files with their current SAP stack. They wanted to know if a custom GPT can be used to resolve their issue. I told them that this is beyond the capability of current LLM, but a dedicated application could be built to extract data from PDF, convert it into the defined XML standard, and provide it for download.

The first prototype was done after 1 day (100% AI-generated with cursor, based on streamlit and fastapi). The working prototype took another week to iron-out all kinks. I then decided there might be more businesses with this problem and launch it as a dedicated SaaS. Converting from a streamlit prototype to an actual web app based on React frontend, Fastapi backend, auth, stripe integration, supabase database etc. proved a longer journey than originally expected, but was still 100% done using AI (I don't really know how to code). What a time to be alive.
