June 7, 2025 I built iSave to replace the spreadsheets my family used for managing money and now it's helping others too!

Hey Indie Hackers! I wanted to share a little project that turned into a product.

A while back, my family and I were juggling multiple spreadsheets to track our budget, savings, and spending. It was tedious, prone to errors, and honestly, we weren't even using them at some point. Pen and paper were all.

I couldn’t find an app that really fit what we needed: simple, intuitive, flexible, and built for real people trying to manage their day-to-day money (without needing a finance degree or tons of setup).

So I built one.
📱 iSave — Budget & Money Manager

Why iSave exists:
👉 I built it first and foremost for us: a personal tool to get rid of the spreadsheet mess.
👉 Over time, friends and others asked for it, so I polished it up and put it on the stores.
👉 Now it's helping other people who just want to manage their money and savings goals without friction.

Core features:
✅ Simple budget tracking
✅ Family collaboration
✅ Set and monitor savings goals
✅ Visualize spending habits
✅ AI advisor

Current status:

  • Launched MVP

  • Getting the first organic users

  • Collecting feedback

  • Working on next features

Why I’m posting here:
Would love to connect with others building indie apps in the personal finance space
Happy to hear feedback/ideas / UX improvements
Curious what growth channels have worked for others
Always happy to support fellow builders!

If you want to try it: https://i-save.app
If
you’ve built something similar or faced this problem, I’d love to hear your story too!

Cheers,
Aldi

About

iSave was born out of a personal need - I created it to help my family move beyond messy spreadsheets and take control of our finances with ease. What started as a simple tool for us has evolved into a mobile app.
