JBot

At the time this framework was launched, it was the only Java framework on the internet to help you make Slack and Facebook Bots. This fact and a good documentation helped me get the 1000 stars on GitHub.

Having said that, Hacker News and Reddit also played an important role in publicizing my project.

We launched JBot on Hacker News and got to the front page! Overall it resulted in 400 stars in a single day. Here are the two lessons I learned:

1. Refine your project before launching.
2. Don't pay attention to the haters. There will always be some negative commenters. Ignore them, try not to take it personally, and focus on the positive.
