Jobs in XR

So JobsInXR.com has been on hiatus for some time now due to mostly tech issues, timing & money.

Timing
JobsinXR.com came out at the first peak and well ahead of the industry's demand for AR/VR/MR roles. To the point, that I could still manually search or scrap most of the roles myself. This should have been a clear signal to me that the demand wasn't quite there. Yet, I was sure I was right and not willing to let the crown of the XR job space go to anyone else, so I poured a lot of time into the project.

Tech Issues
The site was built on a custom Meteor stack with Blaze on the front end which was fine two years ago, but no longer.

The aim was to pass it onto a ReactJS front-end this year but never made it due to money and bad developers. From development teams that didn't work with you to help you figure out the best solution at the star to freelancers who scam you suggesting they can fix things.

Money
The cost of the running the external development team was comparatively high. While I wanted to avoid using sites like jobboard.io which would cost too much, in the end I spent about £3k on the development of the site for a tech which isn't worth while.

I've now replaced the stack with a no-code stack which is much much better and easier to handle, giving me nearly 100% of the features bar the subscription of new jobs which I'm still trying to figure out.

So right now I'm fixing a few more issues and then I'm going to do the entire switch asap. You'll see it's much much better!

I created JobsinXR.com with the simple plan to be a great focal point for the industry to search and find amazing jobs in this booming field!

Built by the industry for the industry. This wasn’t built by a recruitment agency or a big corporation; simply by an ex-producer who’s in this space and saw there was no single location to see all the best jobs.
