March 30, 2026 I built a job search tool because I was tired of losing track of everything. Here's what I learned.

A few months ago I was helping someone close to me go through a job search. They had a spreadsheet with 40+ applications, no idea which CV they'd sent where, and were prepping for interviews by Googling the company name the night before.

That felt like a solved problem. It wasn't.

The tools that existed were either too basic (a Notion template) or too expensive for what they actually offered. $40/month for a job tracker felt wrong. You're already stressed about money because you don't have a job, and the tool keeps billing you whether your search takes 3 weeks or 6 months.

So I built Jobzen. Here's what it does.

You paste a job description and it scores your CV against it. 0 to 100%, with your exact strengths, gaps, and missing keywords listed out. Then it rewrites the relevant sections of your CV to match the role's language, following the Google XYZ formula. Then it generates a full interview prep kit: behavioral questions, technical questions, company-specific questions, a 2-minute pitch built around that specific role, and company research covering culture, interview difficulty, salary benchmarks, and recent news.

Everything is tied to a specific job. Not generic advice. Specific to the role you're applying to right now.

The stack: React, TypeScript, Supabase, Gemini for the AI, Stripe for payments. Built with Lovable. Took about 3 months of evenings and weekends.

On pricing: it's a one-time payment. $29 for 60 days, $49 for 6 months. Free plan available with limited AI. I didn't want to build another subscription that outlasts the job search.

I'm at the very beginning. A handful of users, no revenue yet worth mentioning. Posting here because this community is where I'd want to find out about something like this if I were job hunting.

Happy to answer questions about the build, the decisions, anything really.
