Please support the project!
For those who don't know yet, Jot & Paste is a keyboard-oriented desktop application for quick notes and seamless paste. You can use it for your message quick notes, templates, greetings, signatures, todos, and any often-used text.
The application got new great productivity features!
- Clipboard history list
The new version of Jot & Paste tracks your text clipboard history and shows up to 20 latest records. As usual, you can navigate items with arrows and paste the clipboard elements by pressing Enter.
The list is stored on your computer only and is not being synced with the cloud. We respect your privacy!
- Multiple select & Paste
You now can paste multiple elements at once. Select text items hold Shift and navigate with Arrows, (or using Ctrl/Cmd + click) and use Enter to paste the selection in the last used application.
- Autostart
Tip: enable the "Autostart with system" option from the tray menu if you want to keep running the application after a reboot.

Jot & Paste - is a note-taker app that reimagines the way people write down ideas, to-dos, and reminders.
I build it with the keyboard-first approach in mind, which means that jotting down a text, viewing it and copy-pasting can be done with only a few keyboard clicks.
The project recently received a couple of noticeable updates:
• Moved to a two-column layout
I decided to follow the established pattern in the notes app industry and switch to the two-column UI. The left column is a list of tags (which are also folders for now) and notes are located in the right column. Before that change tags were shown as tabs, which still was useful, but not that intuitive.
• "Emoji Companion"
It is a name for a new and interesting feature: for every new note, the application generates a single emoji as an eye-catching attribute. It doesn’t describe the text nor change its semantics but helps to build a connection in heads between the text and that emoji companion.
I know that many people actually use such note apps to keep their communication templates or other repetitive text chunks. So remembering a connection between an emoji as a visual element and particular text can help to locate it faster in the list.
- “This text?”, - “No, the one with the burger”
Of course, if you are not happy with the generated suggestion, you always can play with the generator.

Preparing Jot & Paste application for the beta release. This release is intended to be a test for the concept of a keyboard-oriented notes app, It was designed around the idea of using shortcuts mostly. I think that keyboard navigation allows users to achieve top performance when adding new notes and getting them any time later.

About
It helps me to create notes quickly, without a single mouse click. I also use Jot & Paste as a collection of text templates and snippets that need to be pasted time-to-time: SQL queries, email signatures, weblinks, etc
