His new job landed him close enough that we could meet up for coffee and talk about ideas for Joustlist and for some of his own projects.
This is one of the reasons building a product like Joustlist is so fulfilling. It's amazing to talk to someone who's helped shape it for everyone else and who's been impacted by it in their own life... even though we didn't meet in person for over a year!
Today we launched on Product Hunt! We didn't make the homepage, but we got LOTS of great comments and feedback!
Up until now, Joustlist was a completely free product, but we announced the Premium version today. For $5.99/month, you get unlimited jobs per day, weekly summary emails, and priority support!
Existing customers are all grandfathered in!
We finally have an MVP up, and although we felt like it was quite incomplete, we wanted feedback.
With John and I posting on only LinkedIn and Twitter, we got almost 100 signups!
Completely unexpected, but very motivating!

The product is for job search, So the best places to collect signups are hackersnews and linkedin.
I observed that HN community is highly interested in jobs, although it can be my personal observation only.

Awesome, yeah, we've had great success with LinkedIn. We normally get at least a sign up or two with just a random post, so we know it's a good channel. Hacker News makes a lot of sense, and I'll explore that for sure. Thanks!

What are your sign ups like now?

250 right now. We had two big boosts- this and our Product Hunt launch, but beyond that, we just get a couple here and there if we post, etc.
We're just starting to reach out to schools and job organizations to build some bigger community and eventually figure out partnerships or cross-promotion/marketing stuff.
