JSON Dev Tools

Lightweight developer tools with zero server processing

May 18, 2026 I built a browser-only JSON tools site — early SEO lessons after 2 weeks

I noticed most online JSON tools are overloaded with ads, slow scripts, and server-side processing for something that should feel instant. Over the last few weeks I started building a privacy-first browser-based developer tools site called https://jsondevtools.org where everything runs locally in the browser. Right now it includes JSON formatting, validation, minification, JSON ↔ YAML/XML/CSV converters, UUID and timestamp tools, and I’m currently working on a JSONPath tester. The domain is still very new — only a couple weeks old — and it has just started getting impressions in Google Search Console. One of the biggest things I’m learning so far is how brutally competitive broad keywords like “json formatter” are for a new domain, while long-tail utility pages seem much more achievable early on. Curious what categories other builders would focus on first if they were starting a dev-tools site in 2026.
